My Grandmother, photographed by her Aunt

  1. Just this morning I listened to a guided meditation on grief. It suggested that we can call on the strength of our ancestors in times of anger and grief. I see you and your grandson in your grandmother. Your old photos always move me in unexpected ways.

    1. I do call on her, often. And have conversations with her (in my head). She was central to my growing up and always supported my aspirations. The one down side: she always scolded me as an adult when I gained weight! The woman never has an ounce of fat on her her entire life. She wore the latest fashion to the very end.

    1. My great aunt had quite a good studio, where grandmother could dress up and be photographed. I've got a lot of very good ones that I shall publish here in the future.
