That is a striking photo. Surreal. Like a peculiar photo collage. Thought provoking. After checking out the website for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, my guess is that the outhouse might be for hunters. That website says that it's the season when three White-fronted geese per person per day may be shot in the Sacramento Valley. Also found many references on Google outhouses used as duck blinds. The incongruousness of that outhouse in that location reminds me in an odd way of how terribly out of place the astronauts with their spaceship looked on the moon.
